I’m a new family veterinarian in the area, how can I learn more about Sage?
We enjoy getting to know our referring doctors! Please call to arrange a visit to tour any of our facilities and meet our doctors and staff. You’re also invited to attend our monthly Diagnosis Dinners where you can hear our clinicians give talks on a variety of topics and can also discuss cases with them. Call one of our hospitals to be put on the mailing list.
Do your surgeons perform mobile surgeries at outside practices?
Yes, you can call to speak with one of our surgeons who will determine if the case is appropriate for a mobile surgery and if your practice has the appropriate equipment and set-up.
Your doctors often work at different locations. How do I keep track of them?
Rest assured, if you are looking for one of our specialists, give us a call at any location and our Client Service Coordinators will make sure your message arrives in a timely manner to the location where the doctor is that day.
Why did you change your name from Veterinary Surgical Associates, Veterinary Medical Specialists, and Tri-Valley Animal Emergency Center to Sage?
The change from VSA VMS TVAEC to our new name, Sage –Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care, came about because we wanted to represent ourselves as one organization. There is a high degree of collaboration among all our doctors and none of our current names can reflect all of our current organization. And, we wanted a name that was unique and easy to remember compared to most of the names in veterinary specialty medicine as well as reflect our personality and “what we are about”.
What does Sage stand for?
Sage is NOT an acronym but a name that we feel better reflects our people – their knowledge and expertise, compassion, and commitment healing and to the environment. The training and expertise of our “sage” doctors ensures our patients receive the very best in advanced medical care.
Has your ownership changed?
Only our name has changed, the people and ownership are the same. We have the same values, standard of care, and commitment to service that we’ve always had.
